If I remember correctly, people who enjoy looking at life from a completely new vantage point, fans of good science fiction, or lovers of Stephen King's The Stand or Daniel Quinn's Ishmael will find Earth Abides to their liking. (Although I have never heard King say so, it seems reasonable that Earth Abides was the inspiration, at least in part, for The Stand.)
